Make This Complete Chicken Dinner In Your Slow Cooker!

Here is what you’ll need!

Slow Cooker Herb Butter Chicken
Servings: 5

1½ pounds red potatoes, halved
1 medium white onion, quartered
½ cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons rosemary, chopped
1 teaspoon thyme, chopped
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
3 cloves garlic, minced
3½ – 4 pound whole chicken
1 wedge lemon
1 sprig thyme
1 sprig rosemary
¾ pound fresh green beans

1. Lay the halved potatoes and half of the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, mix butter, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic until well-combined.
3. Stuff the chicken with the other half of the onion and lemon wedge.
4. Rub the herb butter mixture all over the outside of the chicken.
5. Place the chicken on top of the potatoes and onions in the slow cooker and place a sprig of thyme and rosemary on top. Cover and cook for 4 hours on high.
6. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and place on a baking sheet.
7. Add the green beans to the slow cooker. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
8. Remove the lemon and onion from inside the chicken. Broil for 2-3 minutes or until the skin is golden brown. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
9. Enjoy!

  1. Just made this and it turned out amazing. I could not be bothered to dress a full chicken so I bought I cut whole chicken and put the pieces on top of the potatoes. It was nervous how the skin would turn out even with the broiling at the end but it was perfect and crisp after 5min and the chicken was still fall off the bone tender/juicy. I would definitely recommend doing as I did and using half of the seasonings to season the meat directly before spreading the herb butter on top.

  2. So here is a novel idea for all the lack of seasoning comments. You make this dish with the seasoning you would put on it, make a video of it and post it on YouTube. Ohhhhhhh….. wait that would be like to much work…. Much easier just to diss these videos, either that or you suck at cooking and can't stand how delicious these videos look. So put up or shut up.

  3. Am I the only one who watches these videos but never make the recipe? As a male homosapian my instincts send brain signals to suggest the idea that I am the only person who has used my oculus which connected to my brain to watch a video that has been produced by Tasty also known as buzzfeed in order to be inspired to physically use my body to create a replica of the recipe shown but has been discouraged to make them.

  4. It's literally arguments over people saying that there is just a lack a salt and seasonings. Why tf are people arguing about that. it's childish . if they feel it's not enough seasoning okay so what ? everyone is different everyone does things differently. Is there really a need to argue with someone over that like come on
